I’m gonna miss him
Bev and I sat through yet another show and didn't sell anything. IGMA is usually a pretty big show, but this year it was feeling the pinch from the lousy economy. 20 less dealers this year, low attendance, and people were not spending what they usually did, myself included. Nancy and I usually drop a few hundred at the show, but this year I only spent a grand total of $82.
We had a lot of interest in the dolls. Bev's pin-up girls were a big hit, and my Trace Adkins got a lot of attention. Several people came running across the room to see him, recognizing him clearly. One woman even got all hot and bothered over him and ALMOST put him on her credit card, but decided not to.
We might have a couple of commissions coming our way, wait and see as always, but left the hotel with all our dolls in tow. I'm starting to think my niche is guys, especially bikers and cowboys, and dommes. They're the ones who've sold right away.
Then Monday morning I got an email from the woman who ALMOST bought him on Saturday, wanting to know if he was still available. She then bought him right off my website. Damn, I miss him! He was my best work so far. Well, on to the next one.
